JENI TYLER
PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE THERAPY

About Jeni

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Jeni began her love for travel ever since she came over to America on a British ocean liner barely five years old.  Her American parents emigrated back to Southern California and raised her and her older brother Jason on Balboa Island in Southern California.

Jeni was first introduced to the healing power of massage when she was 10yrs old.  Her mother, Robin, contracted an illness to mold and was paralyzed from the waist down.  She asked Jeni to massage her legs and feet and visualize white light coming through her hands.  After 3 weeks, her mother recovered from paralysis and she walked again.  Robin was so grateful she had a second chance, she swam and walked as much as she could to keep her nerves stimulated.   The Chinese doctor assessed she had “trapped energy”.

This experience and awareness of trapped energy shaped Jeni’s life in many ways, as she always wanted to pursue massage therapy.

Jeni trained to be a ballerina and became professional at 16yrs old, moving her family out to Chicago to join the Chicago City Ballet.  She learned a great deal about kinesiology and therapeutic massage with injuries that plagued her throughout her short career.

Due to ankle injuries, Jeni retired from ballet at 19 years old.  With one more year of high school to complete, she attended the private Latin School of Chicago and graduated right into academia as a full scholarship student at Sarah Lawrence College in Westchester County, New York.  There, she earned a BA in Theatre Arts and Russian language and history.

After graduating, a college friend in Chicago introduced Jeni to Zen Shiatsu, a Japanese healing art  performed on the floor, using therapeutic pressure and stretches of the limbs and joints to encourage blood flow and restore balance and flexibility.

Jeni began her training in Zen Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Ohashiatsu Institute in Chicago.  7 years later, she would become certified in Swedish Massage at The Touch Therapy Institute in Los Angeles and blend Eastern and Western modalities for optimal results.

Since Jeni already had her BA degree from college, she was asked to teach and became an accredited Instructor for massage in the undergraduate and post graduate curriculum at her school, The Touch Therapy Institute.  Jeni created and taught her own class called Zen Shiatsu On The Table, designed for Eastern studies curriculum and National Board Certification preparation for massage therapy in Eastern and Western healing arts.

In 2005, Jeni broadened her practice and became certified in Animal Acupressure and Massage Therapy in Nevada City, CA, offering healing to all animals with concentrations in Equine, Feline and Canine species.

In May of 2021, Jeni expanded her knowledge in medical massage and graduated with honors in the 1250 Hr Neuromuscular Therapy program at the National Holistic Institute in Sacramento.

Jeni is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is certified in the California Massage Therapy Council for the State of California.

Like a kanga in the Land of Oz, “Aus” (Australia) Jeni is still on walkabout with the her mobile massage.  She hopes to help you and all of your loving family members, from furry to feathered to aged and brand new, to get you all Back To Balance.
