Deep Zen Relaxation

Deep Zen Relaxation is a blend of Swedish, meditative Zen Shiatsu and Aromatherapy, designed for your deep relaxation and balancing of the energetic meridian systems.  It combines oils or lotion and your choice of essential oils with an array of long gliding strokes combined with gently dynamic compressions and acupoint work on specific areas to reset the body and restore balance.  The benefits of including aromatherapy with the massage include deeper breathing, relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, greater physical and emotional flexibility.

Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy

What is Neuromuscular Massage Therapy?

NMT is a specific kind of massage therapy designed to treat chronic stiffness and pain where the nerves meet the muscles.  Dysfunctional habits form in the body at these neuromuscular junctions and can be treated with direct pressure with fingers, knuckles and elbows.  An NMT session begins with a full body assessment to help focus on the targeted areas with Myofascial and Trigger Point techniques enhanced with specialized stretches.  All NMT work is followed up with a full body massage.  It can be a treatment on its own or added to any modality.  NMT offers a solution to chronic and acute pain at the medical massage level.

Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body that refer pain locally or somewhere else.  Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, where they may align with the meridians and be on a pressure point, but mainly they may occur in the belly of the muscle. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be emotional and provoke pain in the problem area, however the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative, releasing deep facial pulls that cause the "trigger point" to cause the dull, achey feeling.  Jeni will add her signature deep relaxation massage techniques to balance out the deep trigger point work for full body relaxation.

A full body massage of Zen Shiatsu and Swedish and Aromatherapy can be incorporated with all focused NMT work.

Zen Shiatsu

What is Zen Shiatsu?

Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese style of massage that harmonizes acupressure points with stretching along energetic pathways of the body called meridians.  These pathways link potent acupressure points to specific organs.  These points are activated with gentle pressure, either reviving or calming down areas of dysfunction to restore balance.  It is an ancient technique that has proven its potency over time and is a modality that compliments any therapy.

The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.

Zen Shiatsu can be performed on the floor or on the table.  Please wear yoga attire or loose comfortable clothing.

Space allowance for floor work is approximately 15' x 15'.

Adhesion Breakdown Massage

Adhesion Breakdown Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to improve the appearance of a transformative procedure or surgery where scar tissue and adhesions have developed.

Breast augmentation has developed over the years and provides less scarring due to new procedures going into the armpit, requiring less stitches.

Sometimes adhesions, mesh and natural scar tissue will adhere to and encapsulate the implant where surgery is necessary to remove the implant and restore the breast tissue.

Jeni uses specific Myofascial and Neuromuscular techniques of skin rolling and cross-fiber massage to breakdown and smooth out lumps and distortions in the tissue.

Jeni will help create a more natural and long lasting restorative look to your procedure from either elective or non-elective surgeries.

Pre & Post Natal

Prenatal and Postnatal Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant and postpartum mothers.  Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Postnatal massage helps the mother restore balance in mind, body and spirit.  From hormone changes and body misalignments, Jeni introduces the balance of acupoints and muscular relaxation to help alleviate tension and fatigue due to lack of sleep, awkward nursing and sleeping positions and overall exhaustion.  Take the time for self care and regenerate.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet and hands. Unlike other foot or hand massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the appendages themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet and hands.  Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Animal Acupressure & Massage (Add-on & Full)

60 minutes: $100
15 (Add-on) minutes: $30
30 (Add-on) minutes: $50

Jeni has been working with animals and massage for over 15 years.  All animals, from canine, feline to equine species, have acupressure points very similar to ours and require massage as much as we humans do.

Our beloved pets pick up on our emotions and energy levels and may exhibit stress and anxiety from within the household and massage provides relief to these stressors.

Traumatizing events such as negative encounters with other animals, tick bites leading to disease, diet related issues, allergies and environmental factors all contribute to imbalance.  Acupressure points help release trauma and tension residing in the body and animals can release fears and anxiety faster than we can.

If you have already scheduled a massage with Jeni in your home, Jeni can add-on 15 or 30 min massages, or provide a 60 min session specifically for your pet so everyone in the household is in balance with each other.

Jeni will explain and show you the points and help you establish a bond with your beloved companion.  Jeni wants you to feel empowered with the knowledge of simple acupressure and massage techniques to help your four-legged companion wherever and whenever the need arises.
